Loved it!

I loved this movie. Been trying to get a chance to see it and finally was able to order the blu ray and watch it while having a cigar. The movie was terrific. Bill Pullman was excellent and gave his best performance in my opinion. Tommy Flanagan was wonderful as was the rest of the cast and their performances. I enjoyed the writing, and the writer/director's use of the classic western motifs and yet he made his own story which had twists and turns and nice revelations in a dramatic way. I also enjoyed the Montana landscapes and sense of authenticity throughout. If someone chooses to say something negative about this movie, they might just be envious or I don't know what. This is a very good story in the western genre and you can tell it was made with respect and love for the western. Bravo! To those in front of the camera and those behind the camera of LEFTY BROWN, be proud! I enjoyed your movie immensely and I love classic westerns. Peace.

Feeding the Appetite

Enjoyed this film more upon second viewing. In the last two years, I think I'm finally coming to understand that I need to be a dedicated consumer of the visual arts or I'm wasting everyone's time. The concept behind this film, the idea of focusing on a dimwitted sick kick rather than his confident partner, is a great idea. Lefty Brown (Bill Pullman) grew on me as the film progressed. I'm not sure he created his own luck but he definitely had it in spades. Joining him is the two-gun rig sporting Jeremiah (Diego Josef) and a grief stricken alcoholic Marshall Tom Harrah (Tommy Flanagan). Blondie, the cool and competent killer for hire provides a challenging adversary but I found his departure from the film is a wee bit anticlimactic. Overall, The Ballad of Lefty Brown is a good modern western and will keep genre loving fans, like myself, very content. Right on.

Boring, boring, boring,zzzzzzz.....

This was the WORST PIECE OF CRAP EVER!!! The only good thing about it was seeing veteran actors Henry Fonda and Bill Pullman, and THAT'S ALL.FOLKS! The rest of the crew was pretty much forgettable, especially OLD ONE NOTE JIM CAVIEZEL, who just can't seem to rise above his same OLD character portrayal from film to film. No wonder they blacklisted him in Hollywood, HE TOTALLY SUCKS. Sure this steaming turd went straight - to- DVD...
